Sackatoga Stable traces its roots to a partnership formed by Jack Knowlton, built on the belief that the thrill of top-level Thoroughbred racing shouldn’t be reserved for a select few. That vision grew into a unique ownership group where passionate fans can experience the Sport of Kings without paying a king’s ransom.

With champions like Funny Cide and Tiz the Law, Sackatoga has celebrated victories in racing’s most prestigious races while staying true to what makes the stable special: a close-knit community of partners sharing the excitement, the journey, and the unforgettable moments that great horses create.

At Sackatoga Stable, our responsibility to our horses extends well beyond the finish line. From the moment a horse joins our stable, we are committed not only to its success on the track, but to its care, dignity, and well-being throughout its life.

With every horse purchased, a donation is made to Old Friends at Cabin Creek, reinforcing our belief that the sport’s future depends on how we care for its athletes. Just as importantly, Sackatoga ensures a thoughtful and well-supported transition for each horse at the end of its racing career.

That same commitment extends across the sport. Sackatoga proudly supports organizations that care for the people and horses who make racing possible, including the Backstretch Employee Service Team, Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, New York Race Track Chaplaincy, Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, and more.
